ASHON L. SIMPSON, Waterloo Business Law, Employment Law, Construction Law and Commercial Litigation Lawyer

Ashon was called to the bar in 2019 and joined Duncan, Linton LLP as an associate in 2022. Prior to joining Duncan, Linton LLP, Ashon practiced employment law with a Toronto firm specializing in employment law. Ashon focuses his practice on employment law, construction law, and commercial litigation. Ashon has experience acting for both management and employees. He has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal and the Canadian Human Rights Commission , and has extensive experience in mediation and alternative dispute resolution..

Raised in Mississauga, Ashon attended the University of Toronto where he earned an Honours Specialist Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with a minor in Sociology in 2015.

Ashon attended Osgoode Hall Law School where he earned a Juris Doctorate in 2018. As a law student, he volunteered for the Osgoode Mediation Clinic where he mediated civil disputes, and Pro Bono Students of Canada where he helped members of the public navigate Small Claims procedures. Ashon took part in the Cassels Brock Cup, competing for Osgoode in 2016, and he competed in the 2018 Manfred Lachs International Space Law moot in Washington DC where he finished as a quarter-finalist. During his summer months, Ashon worked for the Ontario government and contributed to Ontario’s policy update to Smoke-Free Ontario with comparative jurisdictional research for the Minister’s consideration.

In his free time, Ashon enjoys trail cycling, reading science fiction, cheering for the Toronto Blue Jays, and watching Formula One racing.
